An OASIS Logon ID provides access to the IT Services mainframe and certain campus systems and functions. These functions define what actions users are permitted to perform in various applications. This article outlines the process for securing a new OASIS Logon ID, changing, or deleting access.
OASIS Logon ID
UCLA utilizes the OASIS Logon ID - a unique 5-character code assigned to individual staff members - to control access to a variety of mainframe and other campus software and systems, including:
- UCLA Billing and Accounts Receivable (BAR) system
- UCLA Data Warehouse Query Database (QDB)
- UCLA Express/Concur
- UCLA Online Financial System Reports (OFSR)
- UCLA Purchasing and Accounts Payable (BruinBuy) system
Some functions can be assigned by the Departmental Security Administrator (DSA) and are managed locally via the UCLA Distributed Administrative Computing Security System (DACSS). Other functions are managed by campus IT Services or the central administrative units responsible for the application. Extension DSAs will submit a separate request for any functions that are not controlled at the department level.
Getting Started
In order to be granted an OASIS Logon ID, Extension DSAs will submit a formal request to campus IT Services. Once your new OASIS account is created (within 1 or 2 business days in most cases) you will receive an email notification regarding required online security training. Upon completion of the training, you will receive another email from campus ITS with next steps for activating your OASIS account.
Once your OASIS account is activated, Extension DSAs will proceed with establishing access to specific functions and systems in DACSS according to the Systems Access Request (SAR) submitted on your behalf.
Changing Access
Because access is linked to your department and your specific role, if you are transferring from Extension to another UCLA school or unit, all existing access must be deleted in DACSS before access associated with your new assignment can be established. Contact the Extension DSAs to delete your access. Next, contact your new DSA to re-establish access appropriate to your new role.
Deleting Access
If you are leaving the University, all existing access must be deleted. Upon formal notification of separation by Extension HR, the Extension DSAs will delete your access in DACSS as of the close of business on your final day of work.
